Play when…you’re about to do something big

I’ll be honest. I have no idea where or how to start any of this. Creating a blog is strange and confusing and packed with too many decisions. But what I do know, is that a first post or a first anything, for the matter, is a big deal.

For the past three years or so, I’ve turned to a particular track whenever I’m about to do something momentous. My first day of college, graduation, an interview for that dream job. In times like these, I turn to Petit Biscuit’s “Sunset Lover”.

There’s something inspirational, spiritual about it. It’s not the lyrics or even the vocals that make it as wonderful as it is, it’s the mood it sets. The place it transports you to.

It’s the kind of song that just inherently belongs in a movie montage. Or a montage of your own. The one that sputters through your mind taking you back to the late nights, missed opportunities, anger, tears, angry tears, and just about anything that you associate with the very hustle that you went through to get you to this exact moment.

So there you have it, a song to set the mood for those big moments—I hope one comes your way soon.
